How This Skin Type Quiz Works

What You Answer

You describe how skin feels after washing, where it gets shiny, sensitivity, your main concern, budget, current routine and sunscreen habits.

What You Get

A self-assessed tendency, a separate sensitivity flag and practical directions for a basic routine. You do not receive a clinical measurement or an appearance score.

Why There's No Photo Step

Questions capture how your skin behaves over a day without a camera. Photo analysis is a separate optional tool; this questionnaire continues to work without uploading a photo.

How the Result Is Worked Out

Two Answers Decide the Type, Not One

Only the first two answers determine a type tendency. When both point to the same type, that is the result. All seven questions must be completed before a result appears.

When the Two Answers Disagree

The result says Mixed signals rather than forcing a type. Both answers are shown so you can compare them and observe your skin again on a typical day.

Sensitivity Is a Separate Flag

The third answer describes how often you report sensitivity. It is displayed next to your tendency and never replaces or changes your type.

Concern and Budget Change the Advice, Not the Type

Questions four through seven only personalize your routine focus, budget direction, number of steps and sunscreen reminder. Spending more cannot change your skin type.

Skin Type Test: What 7 Questions Can and Can't Tell You

Your answers can suggest a skin behavior pattern. They cannot measure hydration, identify a disease or predict whether a product will work. The questionnaire is a starting point for everyday care, not a substitute for a clinician.

The Outcomes and What Each One Means

Oily-Leaning

Both answers suggest oiliness across much of your face. A lightweight moisturizer may feel more comfortable; aggressive scrubbing is not the goal.

Dry-Leaning

Both answers suggest tightness and little shine. A comfortable, richer moisturizer may suit dry-feeling areas.

Combination-Leaning

Both answers describe an oilier T-zone with less oily cheeks. Different areas may need different amounts of moisturizer.

Normal-Leaning

Both answers describe generally comfortable skin with little persistent tightness or oiliness. Keep the basics that feel comfortable.

Mixed Signals (When the Two Answers Don't Agree)

If the first two answers disagree, the result stays uncertain rather than assigning a type from one answer. Compare both clues and observe your skin again on a typical day.

What to Do With Your Result: Cleanse, Moisturize, Sunscreen

Keep the routine understandable. Choose gentle basics, make changes one at a time and follow product labels. The budget options describe categories and priorities; there are no affiliate products or purchases in this version.

Skin Type Quiz FAQ

Is this skin type quiz free, and do I need an account?

It is free. No account, email or card is needed. Answer all seven questions and see the result on this page.

Do I need to take a photo?

No. The questionnaire uses your answers only. There is no camera or upload step.

How accurate is this result?

We do not give an accuracy percentage. This is a self-assessment, not a measurement or diagnosis. It suggests a tendency based on what you report.

What if my answers point to two different types?

You will see Mixed signals, both of your answers and a suggestion to observe your skin again. We do not force a type from conflicting answers.

How is sensitivity handled?

Separately. Your reported sensitivity is shown next to the type tendency. It does not change the type, so oily-leaning skin can also have a sensitivity flag.

Does my budget change my skin type?

No. Budget, main concern, existing routine and sunscreen habits personalize the advice only. The first two questions determine whether there is a consistent type tendency.

Are my answers saved?
